Release Notes
Echo Password Manager is written in Microsoft © Visual Basic 6.0.
It is being developed under the MS Windows XP Service Pack 2
(Version 2002) using Internet Explorer 7 (beta 2). I am releasing the source code to EchoPWM "as is", I will not take any
responsibility for anything that might happen to you computer if you download and use this source code.
There are custom controls, which are all freeware, that this program
uses, I have included all of the controls, you may however, have to
register the controls on your computer in order for them to function
correctly (I would suggest you take all of the referenced controls
in the "Components & Resources" folder within the zip file and copy
them to your "\Windows\System32" directory to work properly). This code is somewhat uncommented, and unfinished. I am
releasing the source exactly where I last left of working on it. Not
all of the functions are complete, and you might possibly get
compiler errors when trying to execute the code. This does not mean
the code doesn't work, it is just unfinished.
I am
releasing the source to Echo PWM for two reasons. First, I would
like to help any and all other programmers learn something, and have
the ability to use my code. Second, the main reason I am doing this,
is most good programs have a team of developers working together. I
hope there are other, better programmers than myself that would be
interested in helping out with the project. If you are interested in
working on the project please, download the code and
e-mail me. I would
definitely like to combine ideas and code to create a better
program.
I will keep up to date with releasing news, as
well as program updates, code changes, re-written code, etc. below. I will
give all credit where credit is due. I will also add any ones comments to
the blog. Thank you!

"I have been working on the Echo Password Manager project for a little over now. I have had a tremendous amount of fun developing this little
piece of software. This project started out as just something to kill time
during my days off from work. It turned into almost an obsession of mine, I have spent well 2000 hours sitting in front of my laptop, writing code.
I never thought anyone else would have a use for my program, I
certainly never imagined it would be used all over the world and be
translated into different languages. Although I am not stopping
development, I do not have as much free time as I once did, I simply
cannot sit around and write code all day long. So...I am making
officially Echo Password Manager Open Source." - Chris Holmes
Development Updates
Date: October 12, 2006
Author: Chris Holmes
Details: Initial release of source code. I am currently stuck
on how to prevent the password manager from finding values in hidden
input boxes in HTML forms, causing it to ask you to save your
password or fill your password information for information that is
not actually able to have an input, or even visible to the user.
Some examples include www.ebay.com
and www.t-mobile.com. This
would be found in the frmMain > IEWin_DocumentComplete and
IEWin_NavigationBegin sub routines.
